Good News in Warm Springs GA.

Renovations have begun at the Best Western White House Inn on the crest of the mountain in Warm Springs. The sign in front of the hotel and the roof of the portico have been removed as well as other parts of the building.


The hotel was destroyed by a tornado in 2011 and has set deserted and deteriorating ever since. It was recently purchased by Presidential Properties who lost no time in beginning renovations. Mr. Neal Patel, a principal of Presidential Properties, says ...

This week the House of Representatives passed two important educational bills. HB801 would add GPA weight for HOPE Scholarship recipients to take certain science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) courses. This measure is intended to help bridge the skills gap in Georgia. Capital Day In Atlanta for Meriwether County

Meriwether County had a great representation at a recent Capitol Day in Atlanta. The visit included this photo op with the Governor; presentations from Secretary of State Brian Kemp; Agriculture Commissioner Gary Black and opportunities to meet with local congressional delegation. We had four of five members of the Board of Commissioners, four of our city Mayors and members of the Meriwether County Chamber of Commerce.

Career Day in Meriwether County Georgia

Unity Elementary is preparing for its School’s Career Day on April 29th beginning at 9:00 a.m. The goal is to expose the children to as many lines of work as possible and this can only be done with a diversity of speakers. Speakers will be asked to provide a 15-20 minute presentation/ explanation about their job and will speak to four classes. Props and/or uniforms are a great way to illustrate what it is that you do!
